Success is not giving up

How do you define success in life?

I think society has made success out to be something much bigger and more complicated than it really is.

We’re taught that success looks like having money, a nice house, a good career, and all the things that make life look perfect from the outside.

But honestly, that’s not how I define success.

For me, success is my kids being happy, fed, loved, and having a roof over their heads. It’s reminding myself that the fights, the bad grades, the messy rooms, and the difficult days don’t define my children or our family. At the end of the day, my kids are okay, and that’s what matters.

Success is getting up every morning, even on the days when you feel like you have absolutely nothing left to give.

It’s showing up when you’re exhausted. It’s putting one foot in front of the other when life feels heavy. It’s continuing to fight through things that nobody else even knows you’re dealing with.

Success is not having a perfect life. It’s not having everything figured out. It’s not never struggling.

Success is not giving up.

It’s choosing to keep going, even when things don’t look the way you hoped they would.

Maybe I’m not where I want to be in life just yet. Maybe I have a long way to go. But I’m here. I’m trying. I’m showing up. And I’m still moving forward.

And sometimes, I think we need to give ourselves a little more credit for that.

Because sometimes success isn’t about how far you’ve made it.

Sometimes, success is simply the fact that you didn’t quit.
